A spotless peace of mind
I am a bit of a cleanliness freak. When staying at a hotel for a business trip, the first thing to do upon entering is not to pack your luggage, but to turn on the lights for inspection. Opening the blanket to look at the sheets, touching the pillowcase, lying on the ground to look at the bottom of the bed, squatting down to look at the toilet seat - my friends said I looked like I was a quality inspector, but I said no, I was "educated" by several hotels before.

Pushing open the door, there was no odor in the air. It's not the strong aroma that covers up the odor, but a truly clean scent. The bed sheet is pure white without any wrinkles, the quilt is fluffy and laid on top, and the pillowcase has no yellow stains. I live in a deluxe king size bed room, just over 20 square meters, and when I open the door, it feels spacious and bright. The mattress of Slinbaran is moderately soft and hard, and when lying down, the waist and back are firmly supported, and there are no dreams of dawn all night. The room is equipped with a computer TV integrated device, and the internet speed is fast enough to handle several emails without any lag. What surprised me the most were the two large windows, which looked out at the sparkling water of Suzhou River. Across the river was the bullet riddled Sihang Warehouse, where the weight of history and the tenderness of flowing water were seen through the windows. This sense of "tranquility amidst chaos" is rare in the city center of Shanghai, where every inch of land is precious.
The toiletries are provided by the hotel and their quality is surprisingly good. The independent bathtub is set by the window, taking a hot bath at night. Looking out at the dark Suzhou River outside, the lights on the bridge flow, and the whole person relaxes. The separation of dry and wet areas in the bathroom is refreshing, and 24-hour hot water can be turned on as needed. This is the most reassuring comfort for people who have been running all day.
The next day's breakfast was held in the first floor breakfast restaurant, in a self-service format that combines both Chinese and Western styles. I brought a bowl of freshly cooked Wonton noodles, and the noodle cook smiled and scooped an extra spoonful of soup, asking me if I wanted to add spicy food. Sitting next to them were several overseas tourists, each quietly eating their own breakfast, creating a relaxed and appropriate atmosphere. Children under one meter are free, while those over 1.2 meters are charged according to adult standards. The details are clearly stated in the price list without ambiguity.
The front desk service is what I most want to write about on this trip. When checking in, the staff took three minutes to complete and handed over a free travel map.
